What the role is:

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) aspires to be a world-class organisation in delivering safety and security for our people. In pursuing our mission to make Singapore our Safe and Secure Best Home, we remain always constant and true to our core values of Honour and Unity.Job Scope:• Subject matter expert on all matters pertaining to Auxiliary Police Officers (APOs).• Source, analyse, and integrate a wide range of inputs, including Government and stakeholder data, to formulate a comprehensive and deep understanding of the APO industry to inform policy and strategy development.• Review long-term desired outcomes for APO services, and develop/implement key strategies to achieve these outcomes.• Provide policy guidance to SPF on matters pertaining to APOs.• Work with Auxiliary Police Forces (APFs) to ensure continued delivery of essential APO services.

What you will be working on:

Key Deliverables:• Develop policies to ensure the continued delivery of essential APO services. This includes:• Amending the Police Force Act and related subsidiary legislation to facilitate the operations and regulation of APOs/APFs.• Ensuring that governance processes under the Police Force Act are adhered to.• Working with SPF to develop directives to govern the operations of APFs.• Working with SPF and APFs to develop strategies to ensure the sustainable deployment of APOs in the face of growing security demand and a shrinking pool of local manpower (e.g. introduction of foreign sources, improving working conditions of APOs, ringfencing APO deployments for critical security requirements).• Working with SPF and the APFs to address operational roadblocks for critical deployments.
