KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

We are seeking a candidate to join the Equity Income focus team in Singapore. The candidate will be responsible for conducting fundamental research, making investment recommendations, and contributing to portfolio construction efforts across our Income, Real Estate and conventional Asia Pacific ex Japan equity mandates.

As the team is style agnostic, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to form robust investment views and stock recommendations across the value-growth spectrum. Collaboration across Eastspring’s other style verticals is a core tenet of the team’s philosophy and process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Equity Research/Portfolio Construction: Responsibilities include conducting fundamental security/ESG analysis on stocks and articulating a structured investment case with risk-reward in mind. The candidate will also be involved in portfolio construction meetings to translate stock ideas into actual investment outcomes.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Due to the team's style-agnostic focus, active engagement and collaboration with other focus teams is essential for long term success.
  • Fund Management initiatives: Working with portfolio managers on various fund management initiatives. Examples include client review meeting preparations, fund review write-ups and portfolio cash/corporate action monitoring.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally 8-10 years of experience in equities research with a proven track record in stock recommendations. Prior experience in portfolio management is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior generalist experience covering Asia Pacific-ex-Japan equities is preferred. Individuals with prior experience in Real Estate, Technology Hardware and/or Internet (with a willingness to expand into a regional role) will also be considered.
  • Ability to make high conviction stock recommendations amidst uncertainty, while maintaining the humility to course-correct views when needed.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, investment analysis and equity valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present research findings effectively within the firm.
