National University Health System is seeking an experienced Platform Engineering Leader to design and drive the SIMFONI Conductor backend, ensuring secure deployment, orchestration, governance, and monitoring of AI models and CDSS across Singapore's public healthcare institutions.

You will lead backend engineers, collaborate with clinicians, data and IT teams, and shape technical strategy, standards, and roadmaps to deliver enterprise-grade, interoperable platform capabilities.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IS or related discipline.
• 8–10+ years of software/platform engineering or enterprise integration experience.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale tech initiatives.
• Strong experience developing enterprise-grade APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, Node.js, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Overview

Join the Singapore Medical Foundation AI Model Programme (SIMFONI), a national initiative driving the adoption of AI across Singapore's public healthcare system.

You will lead the design, development, and operationalisation of the SIMFONI Conductor platform, which enables the secure deployment, orchestration, governance, and monitoring of AI models and Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) across Singapore's public healthcare institutions.

In addition to providing technical leadership for core platform services and integrations, you will oversee a team of backend engineers and work closely with clinical, product, data, AI, infrastructure, and healthcare stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and enterprise-ready platform capabilities. You will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, engineering standards, system architecture, and delivery roadmaps that support SIMFONI's vision of a shared national AI enablement platform.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Platform Strategy

• Lead the architecture, technical direction, and roadmap for the SIMFONI Conductor backend platform.
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, security controls, and governance frameworks.
• Drive platform scalability, reliability, interoperability, and long-term maintainability.
• Guide technical decision-making across platform services, integrations, and AI enablement capabilities.

Team Leadership & Delivery Management

• Lead and mentor backend engineering teams, including managers and engineers supporting platform delivery.
• Oversee project planning, resource management, vendor coordination, and release execution.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of platform capabilities aligned with programme objectives.
• Foster engineering excellence through coaching, code quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Platform Development & Integration

• Oversee the development of backend services, APIs, microservices, and orchestration capabilities for the SIMFONI Conductor platform.
• Lead the integration of AI models, agents, healthcare systems, and enterprise platforms through reusable and scalable service frameworks.
• Ensure platform alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and interoperability requirements.

Stakeholder & Programme Management

• Collaborate with clinicians, healthcare institutions, Synapxe, MOHT, technical partners, and programme stakeholders to align technical delivery with business and clinical objectives.
• Support governance reviews, architecture boards, procurement activities, and strategic planning efforts.
• Represent the engineering workstream in key programme discussions and stakeholder engagements.

Governance, Security & Operations

• Oversee platform monitoring, auditability, security controls, and operational readiness.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive testing, deployment, incident management, and production support strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 8-10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, backend development, or enterprise system integration.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale technology initiatives.
• Strong experience developing enterprise-grade APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading AI/ML platform, health technology, Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS), or healthcare digital transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with healthcare systems such as Epic, HEALIX, EAI/ESB platforms, HL7, and FHIR standards.
• Experience working across public healthcare institutions, government agencies, or national-scale digital programmes.
• Professional certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, TOGAF, Agile, DevOps, or related disciplines.
