Senior Manager, Artificial Intelligence Office (1-yr contract)

Reporting to the Deputy Group Chief Technology Officer, you will support in building and maintaining secure, scalable, and compliant healthcare applications that integrate with electronic health records (EHRs), AI-driven analytics, and cloud-based systems. The incumbent will propose, develop, and implement advanced Artificial Intelligence / machine learning models and pipelines to augment clinical workflows in NUHS cluster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Python, HTML, and ReactJS.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire stack.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in web development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy AI powered chatbot, dashboard, and applications.
  • Develop, test, and deploy healthcare software applications that support EHR integration, AI-driven diagnostics, telemedicine, and other healthcare workflows.
  • Design and implement APIs and microservices to facilitate secure data exchange between healthcare systems.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, HITRUST) and implement secure authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, JWT).
  • Optimize application performance and scalability for handling large volumes of medical data and real-time patient monitoring.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to create intuitive and accessible healthcare applications for clinicians and patients.
  • Work with cloud-based healthcare infrastructures, particularly AWS (Lambda, S3, RDS, Fargate, DynamoDB, CloudWatch) to deploy and maintain applications.
  • Support and maintain existing healthcare applications, troubleshooting bugs, improving performance, and adding new features based on user feedback.
  • Integrate AI and machine learning models into clinical workflows to enhance predictive analytics and automated decision-making.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical documentation and best practices.
  • All other responsibilities requested by the Reporting Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in healthcare technology.
  • Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (Python, Java, C#, .NET, Node.js).
  • Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) for building healthcare applications.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL APIs, web services, and data exchange formats (JSON, XML).
  • Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM, X12, SNOMED, LOINC).
  • Familiarity with database technologies, including relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced healthcare environments.
  • Experience developing AI-driven healthcare solutions (e.g., AI-assisted diagnostics, NLP for clinical notes, predictive analytics).
  • Knowledge of interoperability protocols such as SMART on FHIR.
  • Experience with mobile healthcare application development (iOS/Android, Flutter, React Native).
  • Familiarity with hospital IT environments, PACS, and medical imaging systems.
  • AWS Certified Developer or Azure Solutions Architect Certification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
