Amberdale Asset Management is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounts & Finance to lead financial operations and strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills and over 10 years of finance experience, contributing to the growth and compliance of the firm. As a key member of the team, you'll own everything from financial reporting and budgeting to compliance and strategic planning. You'll work closely with the Directors and other team members to turn numbers into actionable insights and help us grow sustainably and smartly.
About the role
Reporting to and working closely with the Directors, you will be a key person to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, provide strategic financial guidance, and support business decision-making through accurate financial reporting and analysis. Your strategic leadership and technical expertise will be instrumental in supporting Amberdale's continued growth and success.
What you'll be doing
You will be expected to act as a strategic advisor and will be responsible for and not limited to the following:
In charge of financial accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, audit, tax, and any finance control related matters.
Oversee full sets of accounts (general ledger, account receivable (AR), account payable (AP), costing, fixed assets, payroll posting and bank reconciliation, etc.).
Review, prepare and closing of monthly and annual financial statements.
Prepare monthly financial and management accounting reports.
Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support business initiatives and investment decisions.
Understand and calculate the risks involved in financial activities and investments.
Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities and external parties like auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities where required.
Ensure smooth, timely and accurate closing of monthly accounts.
Prepare monthly consolidation of accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage AR and AP activities and mitigate any risk.
Ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirement (GST, WHT, CIT, etc.), procedures and forms – both statutory and internal.
Review audit schedules and attend to auditor’s queries.
Provide month-end variance reporting and streamline forecast/budget models where applicable as per corporate guidelines.
Involve in new processes and system implementation when required.
Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial tasks as required.
What we're looking for
Master/Degree in Accounting or Science in Professional Accountancy or related qualifications.
Qualified accountant (CA, CPA or equivalent) with a strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
Min. 10 years of relevant finance experience in a senior accounting or finance role, with significant experience in financial reporting, analysis, and oversight related to investments across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and private equity.
Experience preparing and managing accounts for investment activities within financial institutions is essential.
Exposure to venture capital and startup-related investment structures is a strong advantage.
At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership capacity is required.
Strong knowledge of the local regulatory developments and tax transfer pricing issues.
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Demonstrated leadership in team building, project execution, and stakeholder management.
Hands-on in system implementation and change management initiatives.
Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
Possess effective time management and organizational skills.
Meticulous, detail-oriented, independent and a fast learner.
Adaptable, with a solutions-oriented mindset and keen eye for detail.
Strong communications, negotiation, and project management skills will be key.
Prior experience in a family office or private equity or venture capital firms will be an advantage
