Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG) was incorporated by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore in June 2009 to build, own, and operate Singapore's first open-access, multi-user LNG Terminal. This key national infrastructure supports Singapore's energy diversification strategy and future economic growth in the energy sector.
With over 95% of electricity in Singapore generated using natural gas, the SLNG Terminal enhances the country's energy security by enabling natural gas imports from around the world. It also facilitates the development of new LNG-related businesses, contributing to the growth of Singapore's energy industry and creating new job opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance as directed by the Supervisor, and update the CMMS database accordingly.
- Maintain various rotating and static equipment, including plant piping and structural support systems.
- Respond to and resolve work orders for any malfunctions in static and rotating equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring timely repairs.
- Determine required materials, spares, tools, and methods to complete maintenance tasks safely.
- Plan and execute machinery condition monitoring and data collection with the production team and engineers.
- Ensure all plant valves are operational, lubricated, and properly maintained, including stripping, redressing, and rebuilding control and plant valves.
- Supervise and coordinate with in-house contractors and equipment vendors to execute maintenance work, ensuring safety protocols such as valid work permits and PPE are followed.
- Liaise with the production team for mechanical system testing, troubleshooting, and material specification checks on piping components.
- Take on additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by superiors.
- Perform valve line-up and LOTO procedures for operations and maintenance.
- Participate in the Company’s Emergency Response Team (CERT) and perform roles such as firefighting when required.
Requirements
- Possess a Professional Certificate/NiTEC, Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic/Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years practical experience in oil and petrochemical refineries.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with mechanical/machinery systems such as compressors, pumps, and gas/diesel engines.
- Familiarity with Permit to Work systems and local codes, regulations, and standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with CMMS tools like SAP.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience with LNG/Natural Gas or gas engine generator maintenance is an advantage.
- A team player with good listening skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
