Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Coordination:

  • Plan, schedule, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth transportation processes.
  • Monitor transportation costs and optimize shipping methods to reduce expenses without compromising service quality.

Inventory Management:

  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory levels and proper handling of goods.
  • Support inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain stock accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

  • Manage relationships with suppliers, transport companies, and other third-party logistics providers.
  • Negotiate rates, monitor performance, and ensure vendors meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Evaluate and select vendors based on cost, service, and performance criteria.

Shipment Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including import/export laws, safety standards, and customs requirements.
  • Handle any issues related to damaged or lost goods and ensure claims are processed efficiently.

Route Optimization & Cost Efficiency:

  • Analyze and recommend optimal transportation routes to minimize delays and costs.
  • Monitor fuel usage, shipping methods, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective operations.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics-related inquiries both internally and externally.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, including shipping costs, delivery timelines, and inventory status.

Problem Resolution:

  • Address and resolve logistical issues such as delays, shipping errors, or damaged goods promptly.
  • Proactively identify potential logistics challenges and implement solutions to prevent disruptions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in logistics operations.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technology, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
  • Knowledge of logistics software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
