Job summary

SWISS RE ASIA PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an experienced Life & Health Underwriter to join the SEA team. You will build client relationships and provide underwriting services across Southeast Asia as part of a high-performance team.

Key duties include delivering core underwriting services, implementing policy, auditing clients, supporting product development, and contributing to risk management initiatives. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of Life & Health insurance or reinsurance underwriting experience, preferably with regional exposure.
• University Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance/reinsurance industry with broad product experience.
• Familiarity with local markets' underwriting practice, regulation and features.
• Ability to conduct client audits and develop training materials from audit findings.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Good team player with stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt to changes and implement improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers core underwriting services to clients, assesses data, medical and financial docs for sound risk selection.
• Implements underwriting policy and ensures risks are sound and profitable.
• Participates in departmental or company-wide underwriting activities and projects.
• Supports the Underwriting team to assess and manage case referrals.
• Contributes to new product development and sharing underwriting expertise as needed.
• Supports QA, governance, peer reviews and internal trainings.
