Global Legal plays a crucial role in safeguarding the Group’s reputation by providing robust legal risk and issue advice. The team offers comprehensive legal support to senior management and global businesses across various jurisdictions, bringing diverse legal skills and expertise.

We are seeking a high-calibre professional to join as a Senior Legal Counsel, Markets & Securities Services.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support to the Global Markets (GM) business regarding GM products, initiatives (including digital innovation and platform development), and serve as the accountable lawyer for senior executives on legal issues.
  • Coordinate with external counsel cost-effectively when necessary.
  • Support and collaborate with functions like Regulatory Compliance, Risk, and Global Legal Services supporting GM.
  • Participate in local and regional projects, providing legal support.
  • Act as the second line of defense in risk management, addressing non-legal risks such as reputational and conduct risks in partnership with the Singapore GM business.
  • Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes, and present at risk forums, steering committees, and board meetings as needed.
  • Maintain professional relationships with business managers, stakeholders, and the Global Legal team.

The GM business covers OTC derivatives transactions and other GM products, including drafting and reviewing documentation like ISDA Master Agreements, trade confirmations, and product term sheets.
