Our client, a US fintech company is looking for a highly talented attorney who will support the international team within the legal department to support the Southeast Asia region and, as necessary, other global regions. If necessary, you may also work with other global teams. As a growing company, you would be a critical component of the legal function and a strong self-starter, with exceptional writing and analytical skills, and quick on your feet.
Responsibilities
* Reviewing products, features, platforms, and initiatives to provide and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as payments, e-commerce, virtual cards, card acquiring, AML, data security, data privacy, consumer protection and other legal frameworks applicable to our products.
* Providing commercial support to the business development and sales teams covering the Southeast Asia region and elsewhere as required;
* Supporting the Southeast Asia compliance and risk functions with practical and effective advice concerning applicable financial services regulations; and
* Assisting on other internal matters as necessary or advisable, including inter-company arrangements, HR/labor matters and corporate governance.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Law, or Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or equivalent degree.
At least 5 years of experience practicing with experience in payments /fintech company or reputable law firms, preferred those with regulatory experience in payment industry.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver risk-adjusted practical advice to stakeholders across the business.
Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication, and negotiation skills.
Comfort in and flexibility with working in ambiguity as the business grows.
