Job summary

Foodmax, a B2B food supply chain business headquartered in Singapore, seeks a Senior Legal Consultant to establish the in-house function and lead commercial legal work across Singapore, Malaysia, and China.

You will draft and negotiate contracts, manage external counsel, and oversee corporate secretarial, IP, and data protection matters while providing practical business advice as the sole in-house counsel.

Qualifications

• Bar qualification: Admitted to the Singapore Bar or qualified in another common law jurisdiction with substantial Singapore experience.
• Experience: 8–12 years PQE, including at least 4 years in-house at a high-growth company; logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, or consumer platforms preferred.
• Language Proficiency: Full working fluency in English and Mandarin.
• Key Attributes: Ability to operate independently as the sole in-house counsel with cross-border capability.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including merchant/supplier agreements, warehousing, logistics, tech services, and settlement arrangements.
• Establish and maintain the legal contract template library, approval workflows, and legal register.
• Provide commercial legal advice and actionable alternatives to business teams.
• Manage external legal counsel across Singapore, Malaysia, and China regarding scope, fees, and deliverables.
• Oversee corporate secretarial/shareholding structures, IP, data protection (PDPA), employment matters, and regulatory correspondence.
• Handle commercial disputes, debt recovery, and enforcement matters.
