Job summary

Public Service Division invites applications for a Lecturer (Big Data Analytics) in the School of Informatics & IT. The role focuses on teaching data analytics, AI and related mathematical subjects, while developing curricula for Generative AI, LLMs, and responsible AI.

You will guide students on analytics projects using real-world datasets and foster project-based learning, with mentorship and outreach opportunities as part of the department’s initiatives.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Math, Statistics, IT, CS, Business Analytics, Data Science, AI or related field.
• At least 7 years of industry experience in data science/AI or related areas.
• Familiarity with analytics and data platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, KNIME, Alteryx, Snowflake and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Generative AI and agentic AI tools.
• Strong interest in teaching Analytics, AI, ML, Data Science, and related mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Teach full-time and part-time courses in Data Analytics, AI, ML, Data Engineering, Data Management and foundational ICT modules.
• Develop and deliver curricula on Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and Responsible AI.
• Deliver maths modules (calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics) for IT/AI contexts.
• Design, review and maintain curriculum, materials and assessments; drive improvements.
• Develop students’ project-based capabilities, including e-learning and self-directed learning.
• Guide students on AI/analytics projects with real-world datasets and predictive analytics.
• Coach and mentor students to support academic and professional growth.
• Contribute to outreach and school initiatives through various activities.
