Role Purpose:
Promote a Continuous Improvement Culture and support Plant Management in advancing the Plant's Lean Journey.
Manage Global Lean Management Initiatives within Pepperl+Fuchs (P+F), including developing standards and improvement roadmaps, leading, facilitating, and consulting on all aspects of large-scale, complex projects from start to finish to ensure timely completion and alignment with the company's breakthrough objectives.
Major Accountabilities:
- Coach and mentor team members and relevant personnel during projects and activities; assist project teams in problem-solving.
- Train and guide P+F colleagues across departments and hierarchical levels in LEAN philosophy and Operations Performance System.
- Serve as a partner and advisor to the Plant Manager and department heads regarding improvement requests and needs, providing constructive feedback on deviations from agreed directions.
- Advise management on project costing and justifications, including potential impacts on lead time, processing times, ROI, and budget needs.
- Monitor KPI achievement post-implementation of Lean activities, ensuring sustainability.
- Coordinate with other operational areas to secure resources and contributions for assigned activities.
- Plan, execute, and follow up on Lean-related activities such as projects, workshops, and audits within P+F facilities and departments.
- Design, communicate, and implement project plans aligned with the Plant Roadmap; monitor progress and address operational issues to minimize delays.
- Support P+F facilities in utilizing Operations Performance System standards and contents, promoting their usage organization-wide.
- Conduct training sessions and facilitate the rollout of Lean tools, methods, and elements.
- Manage own projects and tasks to meet targets, timelines, and budgets.
- Allocate and schedule resources effectively to meet project milestones.
- Lead project meetings and prepare status reports.
- Create and develop workshop and training materials, blog posts, and intranet content related to Operations Performance System.
- Develop and enhance Lean tools, methods, and elements; lead the local GLM team and oversee associated tasks.
Role Requirements:
- Tertiary education in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business IT, Business Administration, or equivalent from a reputable institution.
- At least 7 years of professional experience, including 5 years in Lean process management or manufacturing operations within an international setting, with proven success in optimizing production or business processes.
- Experience in applying Lean principles across various company areas and leading project teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Lean fundamentals and methodologies; experience in Change Management is highly regarded.
- Business fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in German is an advantage.
- Analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize details into an overall picture and communicate clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to ambiguity, and a balance of technical and business acumen.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
