Senior Engineering Solution Manager / Solution Architect, you will lead the engineering solution design process for advanced systems during the pre-sales phase, ensuring that proposed solutions meet technical, operational, and financial requirements. You will collaborate with sales teams and stakeholders to create impactful proposals and ensure seamless transitions to project delivery teams. Additionally, you will spearhead efforts to enhance technical skills and foster innovation within the solutions team

What will you do?
Engineering Solution Design and Architecture:
Lead the design and architecture of engineering solutions tailored to meet customer needs and align with company offerings.
Analyze customer requirements, business objectives, and technical challenges to propose innovative, scalable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Develop high-level and detailed engineering solution designs, ensuring alignment with emerging technologies and existing infrastructure.

Cost Analysis and Consolidation:
Collaborate with vendors, procurement, and internal teams to consolidate and optimize costs for proposed engineering solutions. Provide comprehensive cost breakdowns for hardware, software, services, and deployment. Ensure a balance between technical performance, scalability, and cost efficiency to maximize competitiveness.

Pre-Sales Support:

  • Work closely with the solution sales team to create compelling engineering proposals that address customer needs and highlight value propositions.
  • Act as the primary technical authority in customer engagements, presenting and justifying proposed engineering solutions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Assist in bid preparation, including RFP/RFI responses, technical write-ups, and cost estimations.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical mentorship to the solutions team, fostering expertise in engineering solution design, integration, and delivery strategies.
  • Develop and maintain technical competencies within the team to stay at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Competency Building:

  • Organize training programs and workshops to enhance the team’s skills in designing engineering solutions and cost optimization.
  • Define and standardize best practices, frameworks, and methodologies for engineering solution design and delivery.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies to incorporate into solutions and team training.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on engineering solution strategies and deliverables.
  • Act as a bridge between sales, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure seamless handoffs and project continuity.

Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering solution documentation, including architectural diagrams, cost breakdowns, and technical specifications. Provide regular updates to senior management on pipeline solutions, cost analysis, and team performance

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering solution architecture, technical pre-sales, or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and enterprise systems.
  • Expertise in cost consolidation, cost optimization, and value engineering during the engineering solution design phase.
  • Extensive experience with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), ICCCTV, Command & Control Centers (C3), Smart City technologies, and Facility Management systems.
  • Familiarity with modern tools and frameworks for automation, cloud platforms, and integration.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solution Architect, or ITIL are highly desirable.
