Job summary

Traveloka is seeking a Senior Lead Data Scientist to own end-to-end data science efforts from discovery to pricing. You will set technical direction and deliver breakthrough work across a global user base, without people management, reporting to the discovery data science domain.

You will lead modelling and experimentation across the product funnel, architect scalable pipelines, and influence business strategy with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in data science or a related field.
• Deep command of Python and the ML/stats stack (scikit-learn, LightGBM, XGBoost, deep learning and optimisation where relevant).
• Advanced SQL and ability to architect large-scale data and feature systems.
• Authoritative understanding of search, recommendation, ranking, and pricing systems at marketplace scale.
• Degree in a quantitative field (Master’s or higher preferred) or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and production ML workflows.
• Proven track record of models delivering large business impact at marketplace scale.
• Experience designing an internal ML platform, feature store, or experimentation framework.
• Experience in marketing or commercial measurement (MMM, MTA, propensity, CLV) that informed real spend or pricing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set modelling and experimentation direction across the product funnel and personally lead high-stakes problems.
• Architect scalable systems for millions of bookings and a global user base, managing hard trade-offs.
• Make calls on contentious technical questions, from metric definitions to model architecture.
• Resolve measurement and modelling problems that block teams and define reusable patterns.
• Influence product and business strategy with a data-science perspective trusted by leaders.
• Identify costly models and drive fixes at scale.
• Mentor senior scientists and raise the technical bar through review and example.
