Job summary

A*STAR Research in Singapore is seeking a Senior Technician to manage line troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and reliability improvements in a cleanroom environment.

You will coordinate with process control teams and external vendors, follow SOPs, and contribute to CIP projects while supporting ISO audits. The role requires 12-hour shifts, including weekends, and a strong commitment to data accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Engineering, Science, or related disciplines.
• Able to communicate fluently in English.
• 2+ years semiconductor equipment engineering experience or similar.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience.

Job Requirements

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Engineering, Science, or related disciplines
• Able to communicate fluently in English
• Preferably with minimum 2 years of semiconductor equipment engineering experience (AMAT, ASML, Bruker, Ebara, Evatec, EVG, KLA, LAM, MATTSON, Nikon, SPTS, TEL, Veeco etc.) with hands-on equipment troubleshooting experience
• Systematic and logical thinking.
• Strong discipline in following SOPs, quality standards, and EHS requirements
• Physically able to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods (12 hours shift), including standing and gowning requirement1
• Willing to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays
• Good attention to detail and committed to data accuracy and integrity
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a sense of ownership and responsibility
• Basic computer literacy (MES systems, data entry, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint or similar tools)

Additional Requirements (for Senior Technician)

• Experience handling multiple Semiconductor toolsets with >10 years experience or more
• Exposure to yield improvement, DOE runs, or engineering experiments
• Ability to mentor junior technicians and support training activities
• Familiarity with fab automation systems (e.g., FOUP handling, stockers, sorters)
• Basic understanding of SPC, FMEA.
• Lead in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean / Six Sigma)
