Job description

The Senior Laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing laboratory tests, quality inspections, and sample analyses in accordance with assigned tasks from the Supervisor. The role requires a solid understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment operations, and quality control protocols.

Working Location: Jurong Island

Working hours: Mon to Fri, 8AM to 4.30PM

Company transport: Jurong East MRT

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality control analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Perform advanced maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of assigned laboratory equipment.
• Maintain inventory of chemicals and consumables; prepare and standardize chemical reagents; manage chemical waste.
• Maintain accurate quality records and assist in the development of quality procedures.
• Train and mentor junior laboratory and chemical technicians.
• Ensure proper calibration of laboratory instruments and adherence to standards.
• Participate in risk assessments and contribute to decision-making related to quality and equipment maintenance.
• Handle procurement of laboratory materials and monitor budget usage.
• Implement and uphold QA (Quality Assurance) and safety protocols across laboratory operations.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in manual wet chemistry or laboratory testing.
• Practical experience in equipment calibration and reagent preparation.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
