Job summary

SCIENTE INTERNATIONAL PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience. Must have strong expertise in Java 17/21, Spring Boot, MS SQL, Unix, Docker/Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and CI/CD.

The role requires hands-on development, architecture liaison, and mentoring of junior engineers within a fast-paced Agile environment. Cloud exposure and frontend/backend knowledge are valued. Confidentiality and formal hiring process apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, IS, or IT preferred.
• 8 years' relevant experience in software development and testing.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Hands-on experience in Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Unix scripting, and MS SQL.
• Knowledge of both frontend and backend development.
• In-depth knowledge of MS SQL Server, Sql Profiler, and query analyzer.
• Knowledge of scheduling tools (Airflow, Control-M).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab/ArgoCD or similar).
• Good understanding and working knowledge of Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fully tested source code complying with quality indicators objectives.
• Address technical aspects with Architect and functional aspects with business analysts.
• Liaise with business analysts for clarification and understanding of requirements.
• Solution design using proven patterns, awareness of anti-patterns, performance tuning.
• Analyze technical constraints considering functional impact.
• Organize and take ownership of detailed technical documentation.
• Provide detailed estimation for development of solution.
• Develop test strategy in coordination with project manager / business analysts.
• Perform design and code review for other team members.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Be proactive and ensure a continuous improvement mindset for the team.
• Work in a fast-paced Agile work environment.
• Report code quality indicators to Project manager / Team head periodically.
• Adhoc duties as assigned.

Mandatory Skill-set

Desired Skill-set

• Knowledge or experience in Risk Management / Risk domain, banking domain.
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), particularly for data processing and analytics;
