Job summary

Modders Consulting is seeking a Java developer with 6+ years of experience to join a fixed income algo trading platform in production in Paris. The role centers on building high-performance components for a low-latency environment within a bank-backed team.

You will work closely with algo traders and quants, optimise JVM settings, and ensure robust real-time data integration via FIX feeds and time-series databases.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of Java development in capital markets/real-time systems.
• Proven ability to design for performance and low latency.
• Strong English communication in international teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise the platform's core Java components with low latency as a constant objective.
• Implement trading, pricing and hedging algorithms with quants and traders.
• Deep work on concurrency, multithreading and memory management to limit GC pressure.
• JVM analysis and optimisation: profiling, tuning, JIT behaviour, allocation analysis.
• Integrate with real-time market data feeds, FIX connectivity, and time-series databases.
