Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned and certified Middleware & Cloud Infrastructure Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IBM MQ, WebSphere, WebLogic, and Open Source middleware (Tomcat, JBoss), coupled with cloud expertise (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate), and hands-on DevOps skills in Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support middleware infrastructure (MQ, WAS, WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss) across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
- Deploy and maintain secure cloud infrastructure using AWS (EC2, IAM, S3, VPC, Route 53, AMI).
- Manage SSL configuration, clustering, load balancing (F5), and high availability setups for middleware systems.
- Lead CI/CD implementation using Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes; write automation scripts using Ansible and Bash.
- Provide L3 support, resolve critical incidents, troubleshoot performance issues, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
- Drive and manage cloud migration, application integration, and infrastructure optimization projects.
- Coordinate across global teams (Dev, QA, PM, Security, Vendors) to manage releases, changes, and compliance activities.
- Participate in change advisory board (CAB) meetings, ensure alignment with ITIL processes, and oversee service delivery.
- Propose and implement automation initiatives (e.g., chatbot deployment, automated monitoring) to reduce manual effort and improve uptime.
- Mentor junior team members, document SOPs, and contribute to service improvement plans (SIPs).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
- At least 10 years working experience with strong hands-on technical experience (Level 3) in the following areas:
i.) IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) – installation, configuration, clustering, tuning, and deployment.
ii.) IBM MQ – setup, administration, clustering, security (MQ SSL), monitoring, and troubleshooting
iii.) WebLogic Server – domain creation, deployment, and maintenance
iv.) JBoss and Apache Tomcat server administration
v.) IBM HTTP Server (IHS) and Apache Web Server – configuration, SSL setup, and integration.
vi.) Strong knowledge of SSL/TLS configuration across MQ, WAS, IHS, and WebLogic
vii.) Cloud migrations and working with cloud vendors/partners - familiarity with IBM Cloud and hybrid infrastructure integration.
viii.) Solid experience with DevOps tools: Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Professional certification - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Proficient in Amazon Web Services (AWS) components such as EC2, S3, IAM, AMI, Route 53, VPC, Security Groups
- Shell scripting proficiency (Bash, Korn) for automation
- Integration with job schedulers like Control-M
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos, HP OM and etc.
- Familiarity with logging and performance tuning using built-in middleware utilities and third-party tools
- Experience with F5 Load Balancer – pool creation, routing, SSL offloading
- Exposure to WebSeal and Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) for secure authentication
- Understanding of firewall rules, VPNs, DNS (Route 53), and general networking protocols
- Proficient in Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and AIX – system management, file systems, user/group management, cron jobs
Additional Skills & Tools:
- Automation of deployment processes across multiple environments (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD)
- MQ scripting and utility tools creation for internal use
- Integration with enterprise tools like CMDB, HPoMI for managing IT infrastructure and services
- Akamai configuration knowledge (Web Acceleration and Caching)
- Familiar with NDM (Connect: Direct) for file transfers and job handling
