Senior Instrument Analyst (F&B), Singapore

As a Senior Instrument Analyst, you will oversee the analysis and management of laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring they operate at peak performance and comply with industry standards. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, maintaining and calibrating instruments as well as providing support for analytical projects and data interpretation. This position reports directly to the QC Director in Singapore.


The Position:

  • Perform routine accredited food safety testing and analysis in the Food Safety Lab (FSL).

  • Support ISO17025 Quality and Technical systems as well as manage FSL inventory

  • Operate various analytical instruments including GC, GC-MS, LC-MS-MS, ICP-MS and UPLC.

  • Assist in investigating and resolving instrument-related issues

  • Develop and validate methods for detecting food contaminants including new and revised analytical techniques.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve QC deviations related to chemical analysis

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality systems

  • Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in analytical instrumentation

  • Take ownership of specific projects or tasks related to general laboratory administration and management

  • Uphold health, safety, hygiene, ethical standards and financial integrity in all projects.

  • Acknowledge the importance of continuous personal development as the role evolves.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Analytical, Chemistry, Food Science or related field

  • At least 5 years of experience in advance analytical chemistry, with a focus on managing food contaminants and performing routine analysis.

  • Proficient in operating and maintaining analytical laboratory instruments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with knowledge of Laboratory Safety and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office application

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of chemistry analysis and interpretation within food matrices

  • A reliable team player, capable of working independently, with strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset

  • Exceptional writing skills for technical reports and work instructions.

  • Familiarity with the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation process and requirements
