Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Own the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) program of the plant, identify gaps, and fulfill them with techno-commercial feasible solutions.
- Develop the corrosion mapping regime in the plant by analyzing historical data and providing technical recommendations to ensure plant integrity.
- Verify damage mechanisms in the RBI program and propose improvements in the inspection plan based on sound technical judgment and industry best practices.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend cost-effective repair methods and material selections.
- Carry out periodic inspection programs to assure the mechanical integrity of static equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, hydrocarbon piping, safety relief devices, gasifier feed injectors, and high-pressure boilers.
- Maintain an effective Inspection Data Management and filing system, including periodic updates.
- Troubleshoot integrity problems and provide reports on preventive and corrective actions.
- Conduct failure analysis, analyze inspection and reliability data, and develop improvement plans.
- Monitor the latest developments in inspection, materials, and corrosion technology.
- Develop and update leading indicators for the reliability of all critical piping and fixed equipment.
- Recommend engineering solutions and mitigation steps for equipment degradation issues.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including the Workplace Safety & Health Act (Singapore Ministry of Manpower) and applicable codes of practice.
Requirements:
- Qualified Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience in oil and gas or petrochemical complexes as a corrosion, asset integrity, or inspection engineer.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
- Deep knowledge of mechanical metallurgy, ASME codes, and API standards.
- API certification in piping, pressure vessels, tanks, refractory, valves, and others.
- Certification in NDT methods (DP, UT, RT, etc.).
- Ability to handle statutory requirements independently.
- In-depth understanding of damage mechanisms in process plants.
- Ability to inspect static equipment accurately and recommend repairs while ensuring quality during execution.
- Certification in Risk-Based Inspection and Fitness for Service.
- Experience in boiler and furnace repairs, equipment procurement, and vendor document review.
- Ability to develop and maintain inspection programs and lead root cause analyses of static equipment failures.
- Deep knowledge of fracture mechanisms and capability to perform engineering calculations for pressure vessel design and remaining life assessments.
