Job summary

Molex Singapore is seeking a Sourcing Engineer for Indirect categories to support Plant Operations within Molex’s procurement framework.

You will partner with cross-functional teams including Facilities, HR, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance and Operations to drive strategic and tactical sourcing, supplier management and cost reduction initiatives for the Singapore plant.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree with 5 years in Indirect Sourcing or Procurement experience with Category assignment portfolio
• Procurement experience in indirect categories such as Facilities, Packaging, MRO, HR, Machinery or others
• Knowledge of data analytics tools

Responsibilities

• Manage Indirect Sourcing processes including RFQ, RFP, competitive bidding, auction and cost benchmark
• Collaborate with Category Management to deliver best-fit strategies for Plant Operation
• Own procurement KPIs and deliverables for assigned categories
• Contract management, PR/PO and supplier invoicing
• Support end users through sourcing and cost benchmarks for PO release
• Ensure supplier deliverables for Plant Operation and customer requirements
• Drive cost reduction objectives and annual savings targets
• Negotiate with suppliers to encourage compliance
• Collaborate on cross-regional cost savings initiatives
• Follow purchasing/sourcing procedures and SOPs

Job description

As Sourcing Engineer within Indirect categories, preferably with prior experience in Sourcing and/or Procurement activities.

This role, being part of a committed Indirect Sourcing team, will be based in Molex Singapore facility performing strategic and tactical execution with primary focus to source and support Molex Singapore plant operations, in line with Molex Procurement governance and framework.

Our Team

This role shall function closely with Molex cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Facilities and HR, Manufacturing Engineering, Project, Finance & Operations, Quality and Facilities to support customer demands

• Core responsibility as Indirect Procurement to support Plant Operations requirement
• Comply with Procurement and Sourcing procedures, SOP procedures and other requirements from time to time
• Apply Molex PBM (Principle Based Management) practices during course of work

This role will report to the Sourcing Center Manager based in Singapore for Procurement Governance, Operations and Execution.

What You Will Do

• Manage Indirect Sourcing processes, including but not limited to RFQ, RFP, Competitive bidding, Auction and Cost benchmark and Supplier negotiation activities, Supplier management and Stakeholders management towards Molex business goals
• Work closely with Category Management team of assigned category to deliver the best fit strategies and execution for Molex Plant Operation
• Responsible for Procurement key performance and deliverables on assigned categories and KPI ownership
• Contract Management and Negotiation, Procurement processes PR/PO and invoicing with suppliers
• Support end user departments through sourcing, cost benchmark and complete buyer’s action for PO release
• Ensure supplier deliverables to support Plant Operation, End user and customer requirements
• Work closely with Plant Operation cross functional teams to support Operation Excellence and Business Growth
• Support and drive cost reduction objectives with the responsibility to deliver annual cost saving goals
• Business negotiation with suppliers for agreement encouraging compliance by both supplier and end-users
• Support evolving indirect Sourcing initiatives to proactively identify supply base and supply issues – Risk mitigation, Business continuity plan (BCP) and exploring emerging opportunities
• Collaborate with Global/Regional Category Management team in cost savings initiatives
• Comply with purchasing/sourcing procedures, SOP procedures and other requirements from time to time
• Other Procurement duties may be assigned to this role within Molex Indirect Procurement community

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Diploma or Degree with 5 years in Indirect Sourcing or Procurement experience with Category assignment portfolio
• Procurement experience in one or more indirect category such as Facilities, Packaging, MRO, HR, Machinery or others
• Knowledge of data analytics tools
