Role Summary:

The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Representative is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective programs to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This position plays a key role in promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization by leading training initiatives, conducting audits, and providing expert guidance on all SHE matters. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct comprehensive incident investigations with a focus on prevention, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver SHE training for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing awareness sessions.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all workplace incidents, audits, and inspections, and provide data analysis and reports to support continuous improvement.

  • Serve as co-chair of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, ensuring that recommendations, audit findings, and regulatory requirements are addressed effectively.

  • Perform regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify risks, develop corrective actions, and track progress to closure.

  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation procedures and drills.

  • Ensure environmental compliance by preparing and submitting reports related to air emissions, stormwater, and sanitary discharges.

  • Support management and employees in achieving company safety objectives and maintaining a proactive safety culture.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing Health, Safety, and Environmental programs in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant workplace safety and environmental regulations, standards, and compliance frameworks

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, identify hazards, and implement effective risk control measures.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in computer applications and data management systems used for safety tracking and reporting.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Experience in Workers’ Compensation case management and reporting.

  • Practical experience conducting compliance audits and preparing related documentation.

  • Strong commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence in safety and environmental management.
