The Position

The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) Mechatronics Asia will be part of the Global HR core team and act as the HR leader for the Mechatronics division in Asia. This role is responsible for actively integrating the business strategy with people management practices, ensuring HR policies, processes, and initiatives are aligned and standardized across the region.

This position will oversee HR operations at three Mechatronics sites in China (Wuxi), Malaysia (Bangi) and Singapore and will be leading the site HR Managers. A key focus is to drive harmonization of HR processes across sites, ensuring consistency in policies, talent management, compliance, and operations.

The role requires a strong HR Business Partner with experience in multi-site HR leadership, transformation, and alignment, as well as hands-on operational involvement and who is fluently in Chinese.

Key Responsibilities

HR Leadership & Business Partnering

  • Serve as the primary HR leader for Mechatronics Asia, partnering with senior leadership and site management.
  • Lead and manage the HR Managers in China, Malaysia, and Singapore, ensuring consistency and alignment in HR practices.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, providing HR insights, workforce planning, and leadership development support.
  • Work closely with the HRBP IMS for Asia & EU, supporting HR needs for the IMS business in China.

HR Standardization & Transformation

  • Lead the harmonization of HR policies, processes, and practices across China and the region to create a unified HR framework.
  • Establish clear HR governance and compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to local regulations and corporate policies.
  • Drive HR digitalization efforts, including the adoption and optimization of Workday (HRIS).

Talent Management & Development

  • Design and implement talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to support business growth.
  • Support succession planning, high-potential talent development, and leadership pipeline initiatives.
  • Champion employee engagement, career development, and learning programs across the sites.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure all HR processes (recruitment, performance management, compensation & benefits, etc.) are effectively managed and aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, legal compliance, and labor law requirements, particularly in China.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

Stakeholder Management & HR Advisory

  • Work closely with senior business leaders to integrate HR strategies with business goals.
  • Provide HR policy guidance, coaching, and performance management support to line management.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics, proposing solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Actively participate in global and regional HR initiatives to align with company-wide objectives.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HR, with a proven track record as an HR Business Partner in a global/international company.
  • Experience managing multi-site HR operations across Asia, particularly in China.
  • Strong change management experience, particularly in HR standardization and transformation projects.
  • Workday (HRIS) experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in high-tech, precision manufacturing, or industrial automation industries is a plus.
  • Bilingual: Fluency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is required.
