Job description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Product leader to lead the development and optimization of our Singapore insurance product portfolio. This individual will be responsible for overall product management strategy, driving product strategy and leveraging data analytics to ensure our products aligns with our business’s ambitious growth objectives.

This is a critical cross-functional leadership role that bridges Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Data, and Operations.

The role’s key responsibilities are:

  • leading the product strategy and product management activities. This includes ownership of pricing and underwriting disciplines, defining and implementing initiatives to improve processes and challenging business norms to provide superior performance.
  • leading data-driven optimization frameworks for call centre processes, marketing channel performance, leads and conversion funnel efficiency, ensuring integration with operational systems and measure impact against productivity and cost reduction KPIs.

As a key driver of organisational success, the individual will translate complex data into actionable strategies and lead a team to provide strategic and operational product and pricing and underwriting support.

Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, the role holds high accountability within the business, requiring a leader with business acumen, and demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leading the Product Management

● Set the direction for strategies and initiatives to deliver continual improvements across the Product, including leadership, consultant and customer engagement, reporting and systems.

● Role model collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure interdependencies are identified and duplication of effort is avoided.

● Oversee the development and implementation of robust systems, processes and procedures to continue to improve customer experience.

● Coordinate and ensure the rigorous training and development of the Pricing & Technical & Data team.

● Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities

● Deliver board, and regulatory reporting, including quarterly due diligence and monthly management reports.

● Provide high level input into the negotiation of contracts with key partners, suppliers and clients from a risk, compliance and due diligence perspective.

Product Design and Distribution

● Developing and implementing the Product Strategy consistent with Singapore business strategy and business plan, in accordance with the decisions of the Pricing & Underwriting Committee.

● Developing and implementing Target Market Determinations for products consistent with the Product Design & Distribution legislative requirements and ensuring products are designed and distributed consistent with these and other legislative requirements, in accordance with the decisions of the Pricing & Underwriting Committee.

● Developing and implementing product disclosure statements and other relevant product documentation, compliant with relevant statutory and regulatory obligations, in accordance with the decisions of the Pricing & Underwriting Committee

● Developing, implementing and monitoring Singapore business’s approach to Product Governance Arrangements, in accordance with the decisions of the Pricing & Underwriting Committee.

Pricing & Underwriting

● Developing, implementing, and monitoring the risk acceptance criteria to achieve the key financial outcomes expected by the AGIS Board, in accordance with the decisions of the Pricing & Underwriting Committee.

● Developing, implementing and maintaining the underwriting guidelines, manuals, policies and procedures, in accordance with the Underwriting Policy and after consultation with the Pricing & Underwriting Committee

● Developing, implementing and monitoring the risk acceptance framework via:

a. KPIs established in the Underwriting Policy,

b. Significant variations of policy exclusions;

c. Significant changes to the underwriting process to incorporate emerging experience.

Data

● Oversee the design and execution of data strategies that inform product decisions, pricing models, and customer targeting.

● Strategy, delivery and continuous improvement of end-to-end data analytics solutions across a range of complex business domains

● Deliver actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and statistical models.

● Lead the actuarial and business intelligence teams to refine forecasting, risk analysis, and profitability models.

● Lead data-driven optimization frameworks for call centre processes, marketing channel performance, leads and conversion funnel efficiency, ensuring integration with operational systems and measure impact against productivity and cost reduction KPIs.

● Lead, develop, and embed the organisation's data governance standard, overseeing the management of data used in decision making, including management reporting and AI, models and decisioning capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

● 10+ years of experience in product management, in insurance or adjacent financial services sectors.

● Proven track record of delivering successful insurance products, ideally across digital channels.

● Strong background in data analytics, modeling, or business intelligence. Programming knowledge (e.g. SAS, R, GCP) is a plus.

● Strong understanding of Singapore insurance-specific metrics, regulatory requirements, and risk principles.

● Deep knowledge of customer journeys in insurance and digital transformation.

● Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling business narratives.

● Proven ability to develop strategic plans and implement transformative business and cultural change across the business.

● Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related field; MBA or advanced analytics degree preferred.
