Job summary

Seagate Technology in Shugart, Singapore, is seeking a Senior Engineer, Hardware Engineering to drive the integration of read channel electronics into magnetic recording systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics and Communication or related discipline.
• Foundational knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
• Experience with read channel or mixed-signal ASICs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of read channel electronics into magnetic recording systems for disc drives.
• Integrate read channel ASIC technology to enable reliable reading and writing of data to magnetic media.
• Design and conduct experiments to validate system behavior and performance.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues arising during product design, integration, and production.
• Develop and improve read channel optimization and error-recovery procedures.
• Implement new read channel features in disc drive products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to understand system-level requirements, interfaces, and design considerations.
• Contribute to product development, design improvements, and technology enhancements that support higher capacity and faster time to market.
