Job summary

Seagate Technology is seeking an Electronics/Communication engineer to support read channel integration in disc drives. You will work on integrating ASIC read channel technology to enable reliable data read/write and conduct experiments to validate performance.

The role requires grounding in analog/digital electronics, familiarity with lab equipment, and programming in C/MATLAB/Python. Collaboration across engineering teams will be essential to deliver high-capacity, high-performance products.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's in Electronics and Communication Engineering or related field.
Foundational knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
Knowledge of magnetic recording subsystems and preamplifiers is advantageous.
Familiarity with lab test equipment and experimental design.
Experience with mixed-signal systems, ASIC integration, or embedded systems is beneficial.
Programming experience in C, MATLAB, or Python is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Support integration of read channel electronics into magnetic recording systems.
Integrate read channel ASIC technology for reliable data read/write.
Design and conduct experiments to validate system behavior.
Investigate and resolve technical issues during design, integration, and production.
Develop and improve read channel optimization and error-recovery procedures.
Implement new read channel features in disc drive products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements.
