Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer with at least 4 years’ experience in geotechnical design, analysis, and writing technical proposals. The candidate should be proficient in Plaxis 2D and 3D and have strong knowledge of soil mechanics.

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will collaborate with the Business Development Team to provide design support for tenders, review specifications, and draft technical proposals. You will also work closely with the Operations team on design coordination, analyzing geotechnical issues at project sites, and preparing detailed drawings. Additionally, guiding and training junior engineers will be part of your responsibilities.

Successful candidates should be independent, demonstrate strong analytical thinking, and maintain prompt, open communication with stakeholders. Ideal candidates will be meticulous, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and results-driven.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

1. Design support for tenders:
   • Review soil reports and tender specifications.
   • Identify geotechnical problems and assess risks.
   • Draft technical proposals based on analysis.
2. Design-related coordination:
   • Perform analysis and design per standards and legislation.
   • Guide and train junior engineers.
   • Prepare detailed construction drawings.
   • Conduct site visits to assess ground conditions.
   • Review design assumptions against site conditions.
   • Use tools like Slope/W, Plaxis, and Keller’s software for analysis.
   • Research and back-analyze for improvements.
   • Prepare proposals for remedial work if needed.
   • Engage with clients and subcontractors on technical issues.

Note: Regular site visits at outdoor construction sites are required.

Qualifications Needed

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Plaxis 2D and 3D.
• Supervise Construction Work for WSH certificate (preferred).
