Job summary

VENUS BOUTIQUE & TAILOR PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced tailor to take precise measurements, cut and alter garments, and ensure top-quality finishing. You will read garment patterns and operate sewing machines to deliver well-finished pieces.

This role requires a strong eye for detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to meeting deadlines. A 5.5-day workweek is expected, with flexibility for holidays if needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10 years as a tailor or garment alteration worker preferred.
• Good knowledge of sewing, cutting, stitching, and garment alterations.
• Able to work on public holidays and weekends if needed.
• 5.5 workdays a week.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience with different fabrics and garment types is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take accurate customer measurements and understand garment requirements.
• Cut, stitch, alter, and repair various types of garments.
• Operate sewing machines and other tailoring equipment safely.
• Perform hemming, resizing, adjustments, zip replacement, and other alterations.
• Read and follow garment patterns, designs, and specifications.
• Ensure proper fitting, finishing, and quality of completed garments.
• Inspect finished garments for stitching and measurement accuracy.
• Maintain sewing machines, tools, and the tailoring work area.
• Complete orders within the required deadlines.
• Communicate with customers regarding measurements, alterations, and design requirements.
