Job summary

WAS – We Are Suitable in Singapore is seeking an experienced Alteration Tailor / Seamstress to support our tailoring team with minor alterations and adjustments for suits, dresses and other garments.

The role focuses on fittings, hem and waist adjustments, sleeve alterations and finishing work to ensure a precise fit within deadlines. We offer both Part-Time and Full-Time arrangements, with opportunities for collaboration across our sales and tailoring teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in garment alteration, sewing or tailoring.
• Able to operate industrial or domestic sewing machines confidently.
• Experience altering suits, jackets, trousers and/or dresses is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform alterations for men's suits, jackets, trousers, shirts and ladies' dresses.
• Adjust trouser waist, length and tapering.
• Shorten and adjust jacket, shirt and dress sleeves.
• Carry out minor fitting adjustments based on alteration markings and measurements.
• Replace or repair buttons, hooks, zips and other garment components.
• Perform minor sewing repairs and finishing work.
• Check completed garments for proper fit, stitching and workmanship.
• Ensure alterations are completed accurately and within the required timeline.
• Handle customers' garments carefully and maintain a clean working environment.
• Work closely with our sales and tailoring team on alteration requirements
