Job Description
Import & Export Operations:
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end process for import and export shipments, including trucking, customs clearance, and billing.
- Liaise with trucking companies to arrange timely transportation of goods in compliance with scheduled timelines.
- Monitor cargo movement and status to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
- Handling freight booking and operation
- Coordinate the cross border trucking operations
- Permit & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory documents are obtained for the import and export of goods by Singaporean laws.
- Prepare and submit import/export documentation to Singapore Customs for clearance.
- Stay updated on changes in local and international trade regulations, ensuring full compliance with import/export rules and guidelines.
Documentation And Record-Keeping
- Maintain all shipping-related documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Ensure the accurate tracking of all shipments and permits, keeping records updated and easily accessible for audits and reporting purposes.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams, trucking companies, customers, and other third-party service providers.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, customs clearance delays, or any transportation-related concerns.
- Provide solutions for any discrepancies in documentation or permits.
Customer Service
- Provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders regarding shipment status, clearance, and delivery schedules.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and internal teams promptly, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Handling customer or operation-related issue escalation
Job Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Singapore Customs competency test for declarants is a plus
- At least 4-5 years of experience in freight operation, import/export, or logistics coordination, preferably in the FMCG industry
- Knowledge of Singapore’s customs regulations and permit requirements for importing/exporting goods.
- Familiarity with the processes for trucking, freight forwarding, and supply chain management.
- Proficient in using Singapore Customs electronic clearance systems, e.g, TradeWeb and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
