Senior Fragrance Development Manager (Fabric Care), SEAO
As a Senior/Fragrance Development Manage, you will lead the end-to-end fragrance development process for active and proactive laundry care projects from initial brief to final contract. Your role involves strategic management of fragrance initiatives to ensure alignment with project timelines, investment targets and brand objectives. You will collaborate closely with cross functional teams to introduce innovative fragrance themes, technologies and consumer-centric solutions. With a strong understanding of market trends and consumer preferences, you will drive fragrance innovation and contribute to the success of new product launches and portfolio enhancements.
The Position:
Project Management
Manage multiple complex briefs, developing and selecting fragrances aligned with brief guidelines
Lead the creation and development of both active and proactive initiatives to ensure fragrance strategies align with overall business objectives.
Consistently drive process, discipline and effective execution to achieve rapid market delivery
Monitor results and remain agile to adjust project direction as needed
Creative Excellence
Define and lead the olfactive vision and creative strategy to ensure project success, meeting customer expectations while supporting profitability
Leverage market and brand portfolio knowledge to provide strategic olfactive direction and guidance to Perfumers.
Collaborate with marketing to analyze the olfactive landscape and identify distinctive fragrance notes for development
Maintain a strong understanding of innovation drivers and technical factors that influence olfactive performance and feasibility.
Knowledge Management
Possess a thorough understanding of the Scent Portfolio management process
Generate consumer marketing insights and translate these insights into olfactory guidelines for Perfumers
Customer Focus and Team Collaboration
Drive the creative process by building strong, collaborative relationships with both internal and external clients
Present market and fragrance trends along with competitive intelligence analysis in partnership with relevant disciplines.
Communicate effectively about fragrances submissions, providing clear olfactive rationale based on trends insights, brand alignment, market relevance and competitive positioning
Business Acumen
Maintain a clear understanding of the relationship between the creative process, decision-making, cost product performance and fragrance development constraints
Understand the economics of raw materials and their impact on cost guidelines and the price sensitivity of client briefs and demands
Effectively articulate creative decisions on projects, balancing creativity with cost and feasibility considerations.
The Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum of 8 years of experience in fragrance evaluation, specifically within the Fabric Care category, ideally in a multicultural environment.
In-depth knowledge and proven experience in evaluation within the Fabric Care category.
Proven ability to translate consumer insights into olfactory guidelines for Perfumers and experience in other fragrance categories is also valued.
Strong olfactive skills with demonstrated mastery of core fragrance development responsibilities. Innovative mindset with the ability to contribute creatively to new scent development across global markets
Proficiency in managing complex fragrance projects across categories and clients
Proven success in leading key global initiatives from concept through to execution
Solid understanding of function and technical product capabilities with strong knowledge of consumer needs and market trends.
Strong project management skills, disciplined and willing to embrace diversity, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment
Contribute to the olfactory analysis of new products to identify interesting notes for creative development, with knowledge of key brands and customers globally
Ensure efficient and autonomous execution of projects, with a focus on consumer satisfaction, customer intimacy and agility in response to evolving project needs.
Highly organized and disciplined with strong prioritization and time management skills for both induvial and team responsibilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Confident in conducting customer interactions on fragrance briefs, technical aspects and strategic recommendations
