About the role

Work Location: Regional Technology & Innovation Centre, Biopolis, Singapore
Reporting Line: VP Taste

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for Flavor creation projects within SEA.
• Independently lead projects, developing flavors in line with business need and in response to customer brief.
• Proactively work with new ingredients.
• Utilize Kerry technology to deliver unique solutions to project brief.
• Work closely with all EUMs (End Use Markets) within Kerry.
• Lead technical presentations and working sessions with customers.
• Interact with key customers regionally or globally to understand requirements and build solid relationships.
• Mentoring and training the flavor creation team.
• Perform physical, chemical, and organoleptic testing and analysis of flavors.
• Work with analytical group on flavor matching projects.
• Employ thorough knowledge of relevant regulatory and labeling requirements for flavors.
• Work with cross functional team to optimize the strengths of Kerry and deliver the best Taste and Nutrition experience for our customers.
• Participate in sensory panels.
• Attend industry events and seminars to further flavor knowledge, network, and scout for talent.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert, in certain categories.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or similar field.
• Minimum 10 years industry experience of active flavor work on the bench.
• Strong background in organic chemistry, food chemistry, flavor applications.
• Good math skills for problem-solving calculations.
• Trouble-shooting skills, with strong and discerning sense of smell and taste.
• Broad flavor experience across end-use with specialization is desirable.
• Passionate for flavor creations and strong ability for problem-solving and complaint resolution.
