Rohde & Schwarz Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Firmware Developer to design, develop, and optimize firmware for next-generation Monitoring Receiver products. You will work with hardware, DSP, and other firmware developers to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions.
The role requires strong embedded firmware experience, RTOS/bare-metal, Embedded Linux, DSP fundamentals, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure product quality and reliability.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware Developer to join our R&D team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize firmware for next-generation Monitoring Receiver product. You will work closely with Hardware, DSP, and other Firmware developers to deliver high-performance, reliable, and scalable solutions to meet our customers' needs.
Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for high-performance embedded systems.
Optimize firmware for low latency, high throughput, and efficient memory utilization.
Develop and enhance device drivers, Board Support Packages (BSPs), and low-level hardware interfaces.
Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate and interface with ADCs, FPGAs, RF front-end components, and high-speed data paths.
Contribute to system architecture design and participate in technical design discussions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across hardware and software layers.
Perform code reviews and ensure compliance to coding standards and software development best practices.
Support product verification, validation, manufacturing, and production activities to ensure product quality and reliability.
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in embedded firmware development. Experience in the RF, wireless communications, or test and measurement industry will be an advantage.
Experience developing embedded software using Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and/or bare-metal environments.
Experience with Embedded Linux and/or Linux device driver development will be an advantage.
Good understanding of RF concepts and digital signal processing fundamentals.
Knowledge of DSP techniques such as Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), windowing, and spectral analysis.
Familiarity with FPGA-based systems and hardware-software integration.
Knowledge of high-speed communication interfaces such as SPI, PCIe, Ethernet, and JESD204.
Experience using scripting languages or tools, such as Python or MATLAB, for automation, testing, or data analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
