Job description

Key Responsibilities
  1. Global P&L Analysis and Reviews
    • Assist internal clients (e.g., other departments) with reports, research, and other activities.
    • Identify items for discussion or resolution.
    • Respond to audit and regulator queries on a timely basis.
  2. Governance and Quality Assurance
    • Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.
    • Document application of policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Maintain oversight of the data structure of source and general ledger systems to ensure accurate reporting of financial information.
  3. Manage Relationships with 3rd Parties (Auditors, Business Units, Public Authorities, Tax Authorities, etc.)
    • Support the building of trust with external stakeholders including auditors and regulators.
  4. Reporting and Closing
    • Participate in month-end closing activities to ensure timely bookings of insurance-related journal entries.
    • Coordinate, transfer, and reconcile data from interfaces of front-end systems.
    • Ensure all IFRS, GAAP, and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g., annual report, MAS returns, surveys) are completed accurately and on time.
    • Perform P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Manage monthly legal entity close submissions.
    • Ensure timely internal and external reporting.
    • Support IFRS17 reporting related to IFRS ledger and local statutory reporting.
    • Assist in testing systems and processes impacting financial information flow.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Required Education: Degree in Accounting or qualified by experience in a related discipline. Preferably with a recognized professional qualification related to Accounting (e.g., CPA).

Required Experience: At least 4 years of professional experience in audit or commercial roles within the General Insurance or reinsurance industry. Experience in MAS reporting, GST, and preparation of tax schedules. Proven understanding of GAAP & IFRS for insurance and reinsurance. Ability to work on projects and in teams in a dynamic, international environment.

General Skills: Analytical thinking, numeracy, effective communication and presentation skills, problem-solving, project management, proficiency in English and local language.

Technical Skills: Handling complex financial processes, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, experience with automation tools, comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IAS/IFRS, regulatory and tax reporting, and understanding of insurance financial statements and performance metrics.
