Job summary

Orient Futures International Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to join our Finance team, focusing on financial accounting, reporting, and regulatory submissions in a regulated capital markets environment.

You will perform month-end and year-end close, maintain GL integrity, and support a GL system upgrade, using Excel, Python and SQL to streamline processes while collaborating with Compliance, Risk and Front Office.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; ACCA/CA/CPA preferred.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and regulatory reporting.
• Prior brokerage, financial institution, or capital markets experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of MAS regulatory reporting is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL for data handling and automation.
• Meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently under tight reporting deadlines.
• Good communication skills with the ability to liaise across Finance, Compliance, and Risk functions.

Responsibilities

• Review daily end of day trading close, identifying and resolving errors, reconciliatory breaks, and irregular postings within system-generated accounting records.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and internal accounting policies.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit regulatory returns to MAS (e.g., capital adequacy, financial returns) on time.
• Monitor regulatory reporting requirements and support implementation of changes arising from new MAS notices or guidelines.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including chart of accounts structure and reconciliations.
• Support the end-to-end implementation of a new General Ledger system project (requirements, data migration, UAT, go-live).
• Proficient in Excel, Python and SQL to streamline reporting workflows, data extraction, and reconciliation processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Risk, Technology and Front Office to identify issues and drive process improvements.
