Senior Finance Manager (Group) | Singapore
We’re a diversified group with operating businesses in wellness, F&B and hospitality across Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, including an SGX Catalist-listed company. We’re looking for a commercially minded Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of finance operations across the group.
This is a hands-on role, close to the decision-makers, and it is not a steady-state one. You’ll report directly to Senior Management and work alongside management on reporting, cashflow, governance, asset transactions and refinancing. We need someone who stays calm under pressure, gets the numbers right when timelines are tight, and is comfortable working with lawyers, auditors and bankers on complex matters. If you want that kind of exposure rather than a narrow seat in a large finance department, this role is for you.
What you’ll do
Reporting and group oversight
- Own the full set of accounts across multiple Singapore and regional entities
- Run a disciplined month-end close and review P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statements
- Prepare consolidated management packs, with variance analysis and clear flags on risks
- Oversee consolidation of the Thailand and Malaysia entities
Listed company and governance
- Support the financial reporting obligations of the SGX-listed entity under SFRS(I)
- Prepare the financial inputs for SGX announcements, regulatory queries, board papers and Audit Committee materials
- Act as the finance point of contact for the Continuing Sponsor, external auditors and company secretaries
- Work with the auditors to resolve audit issues, including going-concern assessments and modified opinions
- Keep the group on track for SGX and ACRA deadlines
Cashflow, treasury and crisis management
- Maintain a 13-week cashflow forecast alongside rolling 3-6 month projections, and run downside scenarios
- Manage AR/AP ageing and set payment priorities when liquidity is tight
- Negotiate payment arrangements with creditors, including landlords, suppliers and statutory bodies such as IRAS and the CPF Board
- Support legal counsel on disputes and creditor claims with financial analysis, reconciliations and supporting evidence
- Spot financial pressure early and recommend what to do about it
Restructuring and transactions
- Lead the finance workstream on refinancings, covenant waivers and facility extensions with banks and lenders
- Support asset disposals and acquisitions from due diligence through completion accounts and settlement
- Prepare the financial inputs for fundraising exercises such as placements, including tracking how the proceeds are used
- Simplify the group structure: strike off dormant entities, clean up intercompany balances and handle intra-group transfers
- Model restructuring and turnaround options when needed, and work with external advisers to deliver them
- Lead the annual budget and reforecasts
- Build break-even analyses, capex evaluations and scenario models for new projects and the existing portfolio
- Review outlet and business-unit profitability and recommend cost actions
Compliance and controls
- Oversee GST, IRAS and CPF compliance across all Singapore entities, including payroll statutory contributions
- Design and enforce internal controls and finance SOPs
- Run the year-end audit process from schedules to sign-off
Team
- Lead and develop the Accounts Executive(s) and manage outsourced accounting providers
- Raise the standard of documentation, processes and reporting across the function
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, ISCA (CA Singapore) or equivalent preferred
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including multi-entity or group structures
- Experience supporting an SGX-listed company (strongly preferred)
- Hands-on experience of a turnaround, restructuring or distressed situation, such as a debt restructuring, refinancing under pressure, scheme of arrangement, judicial management or disposal programme (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with Singapore’s insolvency and restructuring framework under the IRDA 2018 is an advantage
- Sound knowledge of SFRS(I), Singapore GST, CPF and the regulatory framework
- Confident dealing with auditors, sponsors, bankers, lawyers and boards
- Calm and decisive under pressure. You can prioritise when everything is urgent and explain the trade-offs to management plainly.
- Commercially aware, not only technically strong. You can explain what the numbers mean for the business.
What we offer
- Direct access to senior leadership and real influence over how the finance function is built
- Exposure to listed-company governance, hospitality assets, regional transactions and restructuring work
