Job description

Job responsibilities:

Accounting and financial reporting

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of financial statements.

  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting according to local and corporate requirements.

  • Perform financial consolidation for the group of companies.

Revenue recognition and cost management

  • Review and ensure accurate calculation of POC revenue, monitor and analyze project turnaround time.

  • Monitor and analyze cost drivers and their impact on project costing.

  • Oversee cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, revenue, and cost projection.

  • Conduct actual vs forecast, budget variance analysis, trending analysis, project margin analysis, and simulation to provide insights on business performance and help strategic decision-making.

Audit and tax

  • Take ownership of internal and external audits, handle inquiries from internal and external auditors, tax agents, and tax authorities.

  • Prepare detailed financial statements and audit-related documentation.

  • Review and accurately submit GST reports, annual income tax filings, withholding tax, etc.

  • Liaise with company secretary for corporate finance matters.

Treasury and banking matters

  • Manage cash flow and working capital to optimize financial performance.

  • Liaise with bankers for letters of credit, banker’s guarantees, performance bonds, and respond to bank inquiries.

Team Leadership

  • Lead finance professionals, provide guidance and training to local and overseas finance teammates, and partner with HOD of business units to support a high-performance work environment.

Undertake special assignments and project requirements as needed.

Requirements:

  • Min. Degree in Accountancy and/or ACCA/CPA equivalent.

  • Able to handle full set accounts and in-depth knowledge of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience in project costing is a must.

  • Preferably with working experience in both Singapore and Malaysia.

  • Experience in GST and withholding tax is an added advantage.

  • Effective oral and written communication in English and Chinese.

  • Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

  • Good ERP knowledge.

  • Problem-solver, resourceful, and organized to support and enable efficient and effective decision-making amongst stakeholders.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Immediate availability or ability to start work within a short period is advantageous.
