Job description

The Senior Finance Lead (Regional APAC) will provide strategic financial leadership across our Southeast Asia operations. This role is responsible for overseeing regional financial management, ensuring compliance, optimizing cash flow, and delivering timely financial insights that support operational efficiency and business growth. The incumbent will work closely with regional offices, operations, and commercial teams to drive financial discipline and enable data-driven decision-making in a fast-moving industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end financial and management accounting functions for the company’s operations across the region, establishing strong accounting controls and processes suited to the industry’s operational complexity.

  • Implement and maintain accounting systems and financial procedures tailored to regional business needs, including billing structures, cost allocations, and expense tracking.

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly financial reports, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.

  • Collaborate with Southeast Asia offices to harmonize financial policies and reporting standards, supporting consistency and compliance across different countries.

  • Analyze financial results against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities that impact performance.

  • Oversee accuracy and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including intercompany transactions and prepaid expenses.

  • Manage billing and collection cycles, ensuring effective credit control and minimizing overdue receivables.

  • Drive cash flow planning and working capital optimization in alignment with operational cash requirements and vendor payment cycles.

  • Ensure corporate tax compliance with local regulations, including tax planning and coordination with external tax advisors.

  • Lead the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, incorporating inputs from key functions and regional teams.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness and adherence to both financial and operational compliance standards.

  • Support group-wide financial consolidation and reporting in collaboration with headquarters and regional finance teams.

  • Provide financial analysis and business case evaluation for new projects, investments, or initiatives.

  • Partner with operations, commercial, and functional teams to support strategic planning, cost control, and profitability improvements.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes, leveraging technology and best practices in finance management.

  • Undertake ad hoc projects and special assignments as directed by senior management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial and management accounting, including experience in financial consolidation for multi-entity or regional operations.

  • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and corporate tax compliance/planning.

  • Proficient in ERP systems such as Oracle; familiarity with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI is a strong advantage.

  • High attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments, regions, and diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentation purposes.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.

  • Must be proficient in Mandarin to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and regional offices.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and coordinating with regional offices is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage audits, including liaising with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and readiness.

Based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia
Required Travel: Occasional travel to Singapore or other regional offices, as required
