Job summary

Lam Research Singapore Pte Ltd in Singapore invites a Field Process Engineer for Technology Development to develop and optimize next-generation semiconductor manufacturing processes. Qualifications

  • Experience with DOE design and analysis is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare technical reports.

The group you’ll be a part of

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customersupport throughout their lifecycle with Lam. The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as a Field Process Engineer_Technology Development, you will be responsible for developing, evaluating and optimizing next-generation semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies. The role involves conducting experimental studies, process characterization, technology benchmarking and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept through development and eventual production deployment. He/Shewill contribute to advanced process development initiatives, support new technology introduction programs and provide technical expertise in solving complex process integration challenges.

What you’ll do
  • Develop and optimize semiconductor manufacturing processes for advanced technology and emerging applications
  • Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to evaluate new process concepts, materials or hardware capabilities
  • Characterize process performance and establish process windows that meet technical requirements
  • Investigate and drive innovative process solutions to improve device performance, yield and reliability
  • Conduct feasibility studies, proof-of-concept evaluations and technology demonstrations for internal and external customers
  • Research emerging semiconductor process technologies, materials and industry trends
  • Support etch, deposition, clean or related process technology development programs
  • Collaborate with global technology teams, research institutes and customers to evaluate new technologies
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor
Who we’re looking for
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or related field; or Masters of Science with 3+ years of relevant work experience; or Bachelors of Science with 5+ years of work experience in semiconductor process engineering, technology development or research-focused roles with demonstrated technical contributions
  • Technical working knowledge of Etch, Clean and/or Deposition process equipment is an added advantage
  • Systematic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to design, execute and interpret Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Good understanding of semiconductor process development, process integration and technology characterization
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presentation preparation
  • Experience in generating technical publications, conference papers or research reports
Preferred qualifications
  • In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Foundational analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
