Job description
Facilities
  • To provide leadership to effectively lead the facilities to achieve maximum efficiencies in terms of safety, cost, quality and reliability.

  • To be able to evaluate, inspect, maintain, repair, analyze and improve various types of facilities equipment, including electronic and mechanical equipment.

  • System ownership on design, installation, operation and maintenance of facilities mechanical systems pertaining to clean room, centralized air conditioning, Industrial exhaust and abatement, process utilities, DI water system, vacuum system, compress air system, process cooling water system, and other miscellaneous facilities mechanical systems to semiconductor wafer fabrication so as to ensure continuous supply of utilities and related facilities at the required performance level or specifications.

  • In charge of handling all the gas systems in the plant (both flammable and hazardous gas) including taking care of the safety controls as well as work with vendors to receive, install and ensure the proper functioning of the gases so as to ensure continuous uninterrupted supply to manufacturing.

  • Drive continuous improvement of facilities equipment key performance indicators such as % availability, mean time to repair (MTTR) and mean time between failure (MTBF).

  • Evaluate skill levels of new engineers, technicians, develop training materials, coach and train team members for improving team and facilities equipment performance. Provide technical assistance in installation and maintenance of company facilities equipment.

  • Document maintenance procedures and processes.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and support audit functions.

  • Ensure safety requirement is strictly followed and all vendors must meet our safety expectation before commencement of work.

  • Perform facilities equipment upgrades as per Fab requirements.

  • Analyze facilities equipment malfunctions and failures and accordingly develop corrective actions.

  • Develop improvements to enhance facilities equipment reliability and scalability.

  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures to reduce facilities equipment failures.

  • Monitor facilities equipment performance and suggest improvements.

  • Work with management to develop facilities equipment specifications for next generation products.

  • Maintain documentations for facilities equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes. Ensure plant histories, drawings, data and other appropriate documentations are being generated and properly filed for future reference and review.

  • Provide support for troubleshooting facilities equipment.

  • Test and approve new facilities equipment before commissioning.

  • Develop cost-reduction initiatives while still maintaining quality and productivity.

  • Provide job assistance and conduct job trainings for employees as needed.

Safety
  • Report and assist section head in safety and fire-related matters.

  • Responsible for routine safety checks in subsidiaries and propose corrective actions to section heads when needed.

  • Inform and update relevant managers of any machinery, equipment, or process in subsidiaries that pose injury risks and recommend appropriate measures.

  • Promote safe and healthy working conditions through education, training, drills, and activities.

  • Act as the plant's fire and hazmat leader.

  • Act as a fire and safety training when needed.

  • Approve permits and serve as a confined space and work-at-height assessor.

  • Support daily oversight of HSE Management system and physical inspections of plant facilities.

  • Execute and follow up on safety promotions and programs.

  • Manage legal register and ensure compliance updates.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or sub-field of engineering

  • At least 5 years’ experience in facilities & maintenance, repair or servicing of wafer fab facilities equipment.

  • Experienced facility engineer or field service engineering professional who is highly effective working in a team-oriented matrix organization.

  • Must have proven skills effective problem solving, troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis.

  • Min WSH Level C or a Diploma / Degree in WSH.

  • Registered Fire Safety Manager
