The Role
The Space Buy and Price & Promotion Executive is responsible for optimizing space allocation, managing pricing strategies, and coordinating promotional activities to drive profitability and sales growth. This role involves ensuring compliance with guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs), monitoring trade promotion income, and leveraging market trends to inform pricing and promotional strategies.
- Space Buy Activities
- Ensure all Space Buy areas in all stores are inventories and assigned to the relevant stakeholders
- Ensure all assigned Space Buy areas are fully executed in the stores
- Ensure all assigned Space Buy are occupied/sold, report to be generated for unsold areas - Opportunity Optimization
Identify and exploit additional opportunities to enhance profitability within the Space Buy department. - Data Compilation & Analysis
Coordinate with commercial teams to understand their goals and objectives
Report to be generated to relevant Category Directors for actions for unsold space - Policy Adherence
- Monitor and communicate with Category Director for unsold assigned space for actions before the due date based on critical path
- Ensure store execution based on planned
- Ensure items display at Space Buy area are relevant to the category in the home lane
- Ensure that Non-Planogram items for Space buy are not more than 10% of the total listing
- Ensure timely Space Booking report to be generated and communicated to store operator to prepare them for execution - Stakeholder Support
- Closely monitor and track Commercial Space Buy income, addressing any risks related to income recovery versus targets.
- Suggest alternative plan for unsold Space Buy area in low foot count stores for leadership approval
- Provide support for business queries from stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for historical reference - Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with commercial team to ensure them with sufficient information on the space availability for their planning
- Ensure relevant space buy information are generated and communicated to supply planning team for accurate stocks allocation to stores
- Regularly update and manage the Commercial Trade Promotion (Space Buy) inventory, by working closely with the Merchandise Planning Team. - Innovation and Marketing
- Utilize creative approaches to effectively market and manage CTP space, enhancing visibility and profitability.
About You
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in space management, pricing, category support or retail merchandising preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply as well.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and space utilization reports.
- Meticulous and well-organized, with strong attention to detail and execution timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup, formulas, etc).
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
