Job summary

A leading company is seeking a Payroll Officer to oversee monthly payroll processing and ensure compliance with local employment laws. The successful candidate will manage payroll operations for a substantial workforce, prepare reports, and support HR functions in a dynamic setting. Job description

  • This position is responsible for the overall deliverables of executing the monthly payroll processing.
  • Ensure the payroll is being processed in accordance with the SOP as well as the statutory and audit requirement.

2 General Description (Job Scope)

  • Oversee full scope of monthly payroll operation to ensure the payroll is processed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure payroll and personnel records are well maintained in HRM / Payroll system.
  • Ensure document are filed properly in accordance with internal SOP.
  • Oversee the monthly overtime process.
  • Prepare payroll reports timely and accurately.
  • Monitor all contract renewals, confirmations, resignation, etc. to ensure timely follow up.
  • Attend to queries from statutory bodies.
  • Handle payroll-related enquiries via service request platform.
  • Oversee the leave management in system and ensure leave entitlement and setting is updated accordingly.
  • Coordinate exit clearance with leavers.
  • Liaise with HRM / Payroll system vendor for system enhancement or customization to ensure the functionality and setting fulfil our policy requirements.
  • Support in insurance benefits administration such as employee movement update and coordinating with broker or insurer on employees claim.
  • Prepare documents for audit requirements.
  • Support in all C&B activities such as letter preparation and policy review, etc.

Qualification

  • Diploma or Degree in HR
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in payroll operation in a manufacturing, logistics or equivalent environment.
  • Handled payroll portfolio with at least 300-500 headcount including blue-collar / OT-eligible employees.
  • Strong knowledge of the local labour laws especially the Employment Act.
  • Strong MS Excel skills preferred Basic to intermediate-level knowledge (e.g. Vlookup, IF functions, multi-level sorting).
  • Strong knowledge of attendance system module as well as shift setup is an added advantage.
  • Self-starter who is able to work and learn independently with minimal supervision or guidance.
