A leading financial institution seeks a finance professional to manage financial reporting and compliance. The role involves preparing accurate financial reports, conducting analyses, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Accounting and relevant experience in the banking sector.
Responsibilities:
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, year-end, and ad-hoc financial and management reports for internal and external stakeholders, including local management, Group, and statutory bodies.
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards and Group policies.
Conduct financial analysis and commentary on the Bank’s performance.
Liaise with internal departments and external partners to ensure reliable sourcing of data.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations related to fixed assets, intangible assets, leases, taxes, and financial instruments.
Ensure smooth operation of related systems and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with internal teams and vendors.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in automation initiatives and reporting system enhancements to align with evolving data and compliance requirements.
Support in retrofitting reports and processes due to changes in internal or external reporting needs.
Involve in system testing (SIT/UAT) and ensure accurate reflection of financial reporting requirements.
Contribute to cross-functional projects or finance-led initiatives aimed at enhancing reporting accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Assist in mapping financial reporting requirements in system implementations or enhancements.
Manage reporting and payment processes for government-backed loan programmes.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in submissions and liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Chartered Accountant qualification preferred.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in audit or accounting, ideally in the banking or financial services sector.
Experience in a retail or commercial bank is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with SAS or other data analysis/reporting tools.
Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
Meticulous with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
