What the role is:

What you will be working on:

You will assist in formulating transport security and emergency preparedness policies, doctrines, and plans covering aviation, maritime, and land transport, including regular horizon scanning of relevant developments worldwide. As part of the team driving MOT’s transport security policies, you will engage local stakeholders and international partners on transport security issues relevant to developing holistic policies and approaches. Your responsibilities will include organizing, managing, and participating in transport and transport security events, as well as supporting various strategic, policy, and development initiatives. In managing MOT’s emergency preparedness efforts, you will help ensure operational readiness of MOT and its Statutory Boards to handle contingencies and emergencies. This includes organizing contingency exercises, supporting the Transport Crisis Management Group during emergencies, and collaborating with other agencies on emergency response issues. You will also participate in inter-agency and national exercises.

What we are looking for:

You should be a Singapore citizen with a keen interest in transport security and emergency preparedness. An understanding of policies, operations, and response protocols is essential. Candidates with experience in policy or operational roles are welcome to apply. You should have strong analytical and writing skills, the ability to view issues from a strategic perspective, and the capacity to understand and coordinate operational details. Being a good team player, able to build relationships at all levels, and capable of working independently and under pressure are important qualities.

MOT oversees the regulation and development of civil aviation, maritime, ports, and land transport sectors. It aims to provide efficient, cost-effective transportation and to position Singapore as an international civil aviation and maritime hub for the region. The ministry sets strategic and policy directions, while operations and regulation are carried out by statutory boards: the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), and the Public Transport Council (PTC). It also oversees the Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB).
