About The Role

As part of the Communications team, this role works closely with the Senior Manager and Assistant Manager (Digital Marketing & Experience) to strengthen the university's digital marketing and communications efforts. You will help shape our online presence through content development, digital campaigns, social media engagement, and platform optimisation.

We're a growing team with evolving processes, and we're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. If you're a creative thinker who enjoys storytelling and digital engagement and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves while we build better structures this role is for you.

You should be an effective communicator with a flair for crafting engaging content and narratives that excite diverse audiences. Experience with creative production, working with agencies, and developing clear, concise campaign briefs is highly desirable. A keen sense for trends and strong creative judgment will be valued as we continue to elevate our brand presence.

Key Responsibilities

Website and Campaign Management

  • Manage key digital touchpoints, including the SUSS website, employee portal, and social media platforms, to support the university's brand and communication goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, content owners) and external vendors to ensure the website operates smoothly and is aligned with user experience best practices.
  • Support internal teams in developing campaign landing pages, digital forms, and website content updates.
  • Assist in SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media campaigns, and data-driven initiatives to improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Track and report digital performance metrics against KPIs and campaign objectives.


Content Creation & Social Media

  • Conceptualise and create engaging, audience-centric content (e.g., social media posts, short-form videos, web copy) aligned with our content strategy.
  • Actively engage with social media followers and grow our online communities by sparking meaningful conversations.
  • Proactively gather and curate unique content from across SUSS departments and schools.
  • Collaborate with agencies and temporary staff to co-create content, ensuring all assets meet brand and platform guidelines.
  • Monitor social media trends, audience behaviour, and competitor activities to inform future content strategies.


Special Projects & Process Support

  • Support the department in streamlining content workflows and improving efficiency through automation and process enhancement.
  • Contribute to university-wide events and other team-related initiatives as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in digital media, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year in hands-on digital marketing or content roles.
  • Strong storytelling and copywriting skills, with a good eye for what works across platforms and audiences.
  • Thrives in a growing, fast-paced environment with evolving structures. Comfortable navigating approvals and clearances while staying creative, agile, and solutions-focused.
  • Familiar with social media platforms, digital tools, and content creation software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Knowledge of CMS (Sitefinity preferred), Google Analytics, SEO/UX best practices is a plus.
  • A team player who is resourceful, detail-oriented, and unafraid to experiment and learn on the go.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, positive attitude and a willingness to grow with the team.
