Job summary

A community-focused organization in Singapore is seeking a candidate for engaging partners and managing outreach events to inculcate pro-environmental values. Responsibilities include conducting community talks and facilitating feedback from residents. The role requires flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays, with a passion for community work and excellent communication skills. This contract position offers flexible working hours with a pay rate of $19-24 per hour.

Job description

Job Scope:

  • Engage 3P partners to inculcate pro-environmental values and mobilise community actions.
  • Manage/support events jointly organised with the 3P sectors (public/private and people sectors) such as Grassroots Organisations/schools by setting up educational booth at community events and/or conducting e-outreach at digital events. Activities may include conducting physical/online talk and quizzes/ manning of games at booths and are usually held on weekends.
  • Train and manage partners’ volunteers for localised outreach events such as dengue prevention house visits, recycling drives etc.
  • Facilitate residents’ enquiries and feedback channelled by Grassroots Advisers and key stakeholders, ensuring cases are logged and attended to in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Able to work flexible hours and perform duties on weekday nights, weekends, or public holidays when the need arises. Able to travel for work to a variety of areas in the North West district.
  • Able to conduct door to door house visits and stand for extended periods while organising physical events and manning exhibition booths.
  • An aptitude for public engagement and passion for working with the community.
  • Excellent writing, communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as a team player.

Working Hours: Flexible hours

Contract Period: 6 months

Salary: $19-24/hour
