1. JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Lead, Central Processing Unit, you will manage and oversee the procurement of fish and seafood from Jurong Fishery Port and ensure timely, efficient distribution to our stores.
You will be responsible for managing product specifications and ensuring procurement quality, while leading a team to drive operational excellence across the entire supply chain. This includes close coordination with suppliers, third-party logistics providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
2. JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensure purchase quality through upstream quality checks and cold chain management.
- In charge of leading the two core teams of Fish & Seafood:
Day Ordering Team (3 staff - 2 rotating shifts (Monday to Saturday) 0800am to 1620pm and 1200pm to 2020pm)
- Consolidate store orders compiled by the Day Ordering team.
- Ensure distribution of purchase quantities to suppliers as per SOPs.
- Conduct checks and confirm supply quantities with suppliers.
- Perform quantity adjustments to stores and top-up where necessary.
- Preparation of RFID tags, scanning into Night Buying System, and processing stock transfers.
- Manage Night Buying Hotline, logistics/SAP portal, supplier returns, and follow-up on technical issues with weighing machines and tablets.
Night Operation Team (6 staff - 1 shift (Tuesday to Sunday) 2330pm to 0700am)
- Receive stock from Jurong Fishery Port suppliers.
- Ensure freshness, quality, and temperature control following SOPs.
- Issue stock to stores and Central Butchery.
- Track stock movement using the Night Buying System and tablets.
- Manage on-timed delivery to Fish Bed stores by third-party logistics.
- Housekeeping and maintenance of weighing machines, delivery baskets, and tote boxes.
- Accountable for quality-related matters of fish & seafood from upstream to downstream, including product quality standards, supplier compliance, inbound product checks, in-store quality issues, and working with cross-functional teams to uphold quality and product freshness across the entire supply chain.
- Perform regular checks and reviews of documentation and team performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and food safety standards.
Job Requirements
WORKING HOURS & LOCATIONS
- Permanent Night Shift: 5 Days a week (rotating days including weekends), 11.00 PM – 8.00 AM
- Location: Sunview Fresh Food Distribution Centre (Pioneer Road)
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in fishmongering. Familiarity with night buying and operations at Jurong Fishery Port, and seafood procurement are added advantages.
- Strong understanding of fresh seafood products, quality parameters (freshness, grade, appearance, etc.), cold chain management, and perishable logistics.
- Strong leadership with good communication skills and the ability to lead teams.
- Attention to detail in inspecting product quality and quantity.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic procurement setting.
- Proficient in operational planning and process coordination.
- Proficient in computer literacy.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work independently with high integrity.
- Resilient, hands-on, and adaptable to shift work and operational demands.
