Job description

What the role is:

You will be part of the Strategic Communications & Media team that is responsible for the development and execution of integrated strategic communications strategies, including media and stakeholder engagements, for the Ministry of Law (MinLaw). You will work together with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective communications of MinLaw’s key messaging for announcements, events, as well as ongoing publicity and campaigns.

What you will be working on:

Your key responsibilities are:• Communications Strategy and Planning: Strategise, formulate and execute integrated public communications and engagement plans to support MinLaw's policy objectives.• Media Management and Outreach: Initiate and organise proactive media outreach efforts, such as press conferences, media briefings, interviews, and pitching of stories, while ensuring the effectiveness of these outreach efforts.• Content Development: Prepare content for materials such as press releases, factsheets, speeches, replies to media queries, infographics, videos, interview briefs and other publicity materials for both traditional and digital media platforms.• Sense-making: Monitor, analyse traction and sense make reactions on announcements, events and prevailing public opinion on traditional and digital media platforms, so as to advise and recommend the appropriate communications strategy and efforts.

*Key Competencies*• [Media Analytics & Sensing]: Monitor media activities and reports to assess potential ramifications and recommend suitable response• [Message Framing & Delivery]: Craft and deliver messages in a manner that is aligned to communications strategy and objectives while considering different target audiences• [Media Relations]: Develop media engagement strategies and foster media relationships to manage media responses and further agency's organisational goals• [Communications Strategy]: Develop communications strategies and programmes to support agency leaders and policy-makers in achieving policy/agency/ national objectives*Work Experience / Technical Skills / Personal Traits*• 2-5 years’ work experience in corporate communications, media relations, public relations, advertising or journalism• Strong stakeholder management skills• Strong command of English, with an ability to adapt writing style and tone based on platforms and target audience.• Strong analytical skills• Excellent communicator• Good team player• Driven and self-motivated, with a positive work attitude and ability to prioritise workload• Meticulous with attention to detailThis is a temporary 6-months contract position.#LI-SW1
